The energy management circuit (EMC) will provide a constant load voltage, independently of the source voltage fluctuations and power required by the IoT Bundle. The proposed smart EMC will be connected to the TFC and it will comprise a multi-ratio DC-DC converter and a smart and ultra-low-voltage digital controller.

The multi-ratio switched-capacitor (SC) converter will use a series-parallel structure composed by several flying capacitors and switches (implemented either with simple transistors or with bootstrapping techniques).
For proper operation, the energy storage device must withstand many charge/discharge cycles
without degradation.
This smart EMC will be based on oxide electronics and multilayer high-κ dielectrics.
